Carole Guinane has extensive experience at the corporate vice president and vice president levels at health care systems in California, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Colorado, including Interim President for a long-term care division. From leading ambulatory surgery divisions, steering system-wide quality improvement initiatives and introducing/expanding orthopedic service lines, to leading the charge on opening multi-million-dollar Ambulatory Surgery Centers and hospitals, Guinane has demonstrated successes. She served as vice president at one of six hospitals in the country to adopt quality improvement strategies as implemented in manufacturing and industry, and the hospital was featured in the book Striving Toward Improvement: Six Hospitals in Search of Quality published by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Guinane has authored and co-authored numerous books on various health care topics, including outpatient policies, improving quality in the outpatient setting, and analyzing clinical care pathways. She also has published several articles in the Journal for Healthcare Quality and the American Heart Hospital Journal, and presented at Ambulatory Surgery Center Association, Institute for Healthcare Improvement, and National Association for Healthcare Quality national conferences on topics such as leadership, ASC operations, health care quality, data analysis, and process improvement. Guinane is a past president for the National Association of Healthcare Quality.
